For my second gif I decided on “Animals Doing Funny Things” which is worth 1 and a half stars. Most of my life I have been surrounded my animals. Both of my parents grew up in the country and my grandparents all lived on farms. While I live in Woodbridge, Virginia which is definitely not the country I still exposed to the outdoors and animals. My aunt has a Rhodesian ridgeback, my mom has a pit bull mix, my grandparents have a yorkie and bloodhound plus a dozen chickens, while my boyfriend’s family have 2 german shepherds, 2 dachshunds, 2 cats, and a lizard. In the past I have also had fish, but they were not as memorable. At first I tried to find a video of one of the many animals I come in to contact with on a daily basis but sadly could not locate a video of them doing anything humorous. My next mission was to explore the internet and find some funny animal video. For this I went to the one true video king, YouTube. A few months ago I had remembered seeing a video of golden retriever puppies swimming for the first time so I looked up that and found the video I wanted.
To start off my gif I have to choose a website to make my gif. I am very familiar with giphy.com and have used it multiple times (such as in my last blog post on making a gif) in the past so that is the generator I will be using today. Giphy doesn’t require you to have an account so I simply clicked “Create” at the top right and started making my gif.
After this I scroll down the page and decide when I want the gif to start and how long I want the gif to be. For this I decided to start at 16 seconds which shows the puppy jumping into the water and swimming. I made the gif 3 seconds long because it showed a quick, funny scene and the next part of the video is a different puppy. I recommend watching the gif a few times and messing with the lengths to achieve desired results.
If you continue to scroll down the page if gives you options to add captions and tags to your gif but I did not feel the need to do that. All that is left is to click “Create Gif” at the bottom of the page.
My second gif now shows the story of a golden retriever swimming for the first time and specifically one puppy jumping into the water.
